In February 2001, I had my first flight. It was with a Thunder tiger I bought off a club member. I fitted an Irvine 53 and persuaded Dave Rudder to leave his cosy lounge and give me a flight. It was very windy, and I only managed about 30 seconds at the controls, but I was hooked. Jon Cooke, seen on the left was also at the field flying his heli

It was a good trainer. Here I am at the Waveney club, near Elough airfield

I was just getting to grips with this flying lark, when, unfortunately, I was " shot down" by another member leaving his TX on, after clearing the peg

The kind people at WMFC organised a replacement plane.It was an Acrowot from Tom Cole, It needed a few repairs;
 I put an SC61 engine in it, but it was a bit of a handful for me, so I set it aside for the time being
The late Tom Taylor, was always ready to help me learn to fly

After my trainer was "shot down" , Tom Taylor gave me this tri-fly ; designed for gliding, electric or IC. I put an OS 25 LA in it
